Preamble

As per the Drone Industry Insights Report 2020, the global drone market size is expected to grow to $42.8B by 2025 at 13.8% CAGR. The findings also projected that India is expected to be the third-largest drone market in the world by 2025 (Source: Your Story). With such great market potential for drones in India in the coming years, what will follow is also crucial allied jobs in the UAV industry along with the manufacturing process like assembly line flow and maintenance and repairs. Therefore it is crucial for any individual wanting to get involved in this sector to understand the regulations, applications of drones, the It is crucial for any entity or entrepreneur involved in the ecosystem of UAV to understand the regulations, the operational impediments and the permissible usages to be able to design,manufacture, repair and maintain this new-age technology.

This course therefore aims to introduce participants to these various allied aspects of UAV and developing a workforce with these expertise and skill sets. The course fits in the larger purview of the SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals) of SDG 4, SDG 8, SDG 9 and SDG 11 building a strong foundation of application and action based knowledge creation and dissemination.

Course description :

The proposed course is a certificate course planned to introduce participants to the role of methods of data surveys used for urban/regional planning projects of varied nature and size. The course aims to educate participants on the new techniques of data survey and methods of capturing the required data through the use of UAV. The course will take you through various aspects of urban planning and survey analysis through an informed and methodological framework with demonstrative hands-on exercises to deal with on ground complex issues and application based learning.

Course Eligibility/Prerequisite :

Completed 3rd year of technical degree courses like Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning or similar degree course.

Course Date(s) and Times

Offline Mode – This is a 6 days offline certificate course with 6 lecture contact hours and 1 hour of exercise time per day. The final day 6 will be for conducting the major assessment towards the course completion and award of certification. Therefore, the entire duration of the course including the last day assessment will be 40 hours.

The lectures will be delivered Monday to Saturday- from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

 

Online Mode – Offline Mode- This is a 6 days offline certificate course with 6 lecture contact hours and 1 hour of exercise time per day. The final day 6 will be for conducting the major assessment towards the course completion and award of certification. Therefore the entire duration of the course including the last day assessment will be 40 hours.

The lectures will be delivered Monday to Saturday- 9:00am to 6:00pm.

Undergraduates from Engineering or similar technical courses such as B.Tech. Postgraduates from Engineering similar technical courses such as M.Tech. 12th-pass students with keen interest in technology.

Course Completion Requirements/Grading Scheme

The course will require the candidate to complete a theory examination along with a practical exam evaluated by the faculty team as per the taught modules.
Theory Exam- 50 marks
Practical Exam- 150 marks
Total Assessment- 200 marks

Technical support 

Open area at the learning center or as available for conduction of practical demonstration of drone flying and manufacturing, assembly components, etc as per taught modules.
